Completely depend on His mercy
Krishna will surely protect me and give me help for the successful execution of devotional service.
One acts and thinks as Krishna desires.
One will accept whatever the guru says. It is not that one thinks, “I do not care for my guru’s order. Still I am a disciple.” That is not actually accepting a guru.
Surrender means to accept his orders. The spiritual master trains the disciple in the way of goodness quality. So if you do not abide the orders of spiritual master, what is the use of your surrender? Surrender means anukulyasya sankalpah pratikulyasya varjanam. Anukula, favorable things, should be accepted. And you do not know. Therefore spiritual master will direct you, “This is favorable. This is unfavorable. Don’t smoke—this is unfavorable.” But if you don’t accept the instruction, what is the meaning of surrender? Simply by offering obeisances, falling flat for the time being, that is not surrender.

Surrender means to give up our own personal interests to ultimately serve the desire of the Krishna. Under the spell of illusion we hold on to our false conceptions of shelter, trying to choose a comfortable situation that will not put our attachments in jeopardy. We’re thinking, «I don’t want to give up my attachments, so let me find a situation where I can keep them and still make advancements. But Krishna knows better. He knows what we need so that we can continue to make progress. The fact is that He knows much better than we do, and therefore sometimes He tries to lovingly pull us along by showing us the attachments that we need to give up — not artificially — but by developing our attachments to Him through devotional service.
Surrender means to take shelter in Krishna under ALL circumstances— wherever He puts you, whatever service He gives you, and no matter how much difficulty He places you in. Krsna can, and will, give you shelter, if you seek it from Him.
Self-surrender means to offer body, mind, words — our life — to the will of the Supreme. Words like surrender, which usually connotes capitulation and defeat, often sound frightening. But surrender to the Supreme Beloved is really victory of the true self over the false self, the ascension of soul over ego. Surrender for those on the path of devotion means to give oneself completely to transcendent love.
All bhakti practices are built on a foundation of integrity, enthusiastic effort, and sincere intent. Practice bhakti sincerely and you will realize that God’surrender means that he wants nothing in return for his loving service. He only wants Krishna to be pleased. Total self-annihilation is impossible (despite the wishes of the voidists), but ahaìkära, or false ego, is dissolved by devotional service and replaced by true ego, the understanding that “I am an eternal servant of the Krishna.” The true self-interest of the living being lies in freedom from selfishness and, as Narada says here, “the offering of one’s every act to the Supreme Krishna.” We are all eternally part and parcel of the Supreme Being, Krishna; as such, we can experience full satisfaction only through giving Him pleasure. love is in you and all around you, and you will see the whole world in the light of that love.
